William A. Smith, age 71, of Clarkson, passed away, Friday, November 17, 2023, at U of L Hospital in Louisville.

He was born March 29, 1952, in Leitchfield, to the late, Cletus and Lucille Higdon Smith. He was the owner and operator of Smith Trucking for over 50 years. He enjoyed farming, working on old vehicles and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nivatta Lindsey Smith and a brother, James Howard Smith.

William is survived by two sons, James Smith and Charles (Michell) Smith all of Clarkson, three grandchildren, Ryan (Krystal) Smith, Leana Smith and Bryson Smith; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Sutton and Copley Smith and Pyper Sanders and two sisters, Carol Hill and Bernice Grant.

Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM (CST), Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Johnson and Rev. Brandon Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 8PM, Monday and from 9 to 10:30 AM, Tuesday at Rogers Funeral Home.

A prayer service will be held at 6 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
