William Perry McCall II, was born in Leitchfield, KY, he was the son of Matilda Hahn and William Winstead McCall. "Sarge" or "Doc" as many knew him was married to his wife of 56 years Dorothy "Dot" Basham McCall.

He is survived by his wife Dot; a son William Perry McCall III; two grandsons: William Perry McCall IV (Will) and Zachary McCall (Zach); one granddaughter Katelyn Louisessa McCall (Kaye); one great-grandson Zaeden Dunn; a special nephew and traveling companion Jamie Hudgins; three sisters: Marilyn Winstead McCall, Barbara McCall and Nancy C. McCall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother David L. McCall; two sisters Jane Frances Babson and Zella Morgan Johnson; an infant brother and sister Charles and Constance.
