Walter Lee Haycraft, age 81, of Leitchfield, passed away, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Grayson Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on October 31, 1944, in Grayson County to the late Van and Elizabeth Kerr Haycraft. Walter was a simple and hardworking man. He was a retired truck driver for Allen’s Trucking and enjoyed country music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Sims Haycraft; a son, Jerry Ray Haycraft; a brother, Larry Haycraft and a sister, Sheryl Skaggs.

Walter is survived by a son, Ronald Haycraft; a brother, Phillip Haycraft (Phyllis); one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM (CT), Monday. August 24, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Gibson Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 9 AM (CT), Monday at the funeral home.
