Virgie Helen Alvey was born in Grayson Co., Ky. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Teresa Higdon Alvey.

She was a Homemaker.

Virgie is survived by one daughter Betty Hickerson of Louisville; one grandson Christopher Hickerson of Louisville; a granddaughter Jaime Hickerson of Louisville; five Great-Grandchildren; three Great-great Grandchildren and four sisters: Geneva Wilson, Nora Haycraft, Pearl Minton and Carrie Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her Parents.

Visitation : Sunday December 14 2014 from 3-8 PM CST and Monday after 9:00 AM CST at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home.

Services : Monday December 15 2014 at 10:00 AM CST at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Rev. Babu Joseph officiating.

Interment : St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery
