Stephen Dwaine Decker, age 67, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, formerly of Leitchfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Stephen was born in Grayson County, Kentucky on February 9, 1957, to the late Denvard and Anna (Hockenbury) Decker. Stephen grew up in the Leitchfield area where he graduated high school. He then attended beauty college in Leitchfield before moving to Modesto, CA to complete beauty school. It was while in Modesto that he met Maryann while working as her hairdresser. They would marry and move back to Oklahoma where he would own his own salon in Bernice, OK for over 25 years. While in Bernice he would take a pastorate at a local church. In 2016, the couple moved to Chelsea, OK and began attending House of Prayer. Stephen loved to sing and especially loved to sing gospel music in church. Stephen will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mikel Ray Decker.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Decker; a sister, Lorie (Danny) Holderman; three brothers, Joey (Lorma) Decker, Jeff (Tina) Decker and Terry (Cindy) Decker; his step-mother, Mary Embry Decker; a stepson, Bruce (Nancy) Parks; three step-grandchildren, Travis (Elisabeth) Parks, Tiffany (Daniel) Foster  and Whitney (Aaron) Thomley and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM (CST), Monday, June 17, 2024, at Watkins Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will follow in the Blowtown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 PM, Sunday and after 9 AM, Monday at the funeral home.
