Sarah Ann Pence Staples, age 75, of Big Clifty, passed away, Monday, January 26, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

She was born on March 11, 1950, in Hardin County, to the late Albert H. and Melea Spencer Pence. She retired from Hardin County School System where she was a bus driver for 42 years. She was also a farmer and attended the Summit Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Staples.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Jerry Staples; a son, Robert Dale Staples (Sharon); two grandchildren, Justin Dale Staples (Alyssa) and Jarret Wade Staples (Jess); a brother, Lacy Pence (Sherry) and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM (CST), Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home with Sam Dick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM (CST), Saturday and after 9 AM Sunday at the funeral home.
