Roy Smith, age 69, of Clarkson, passed away, Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

He was born August 16, 1953, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late, Paul Smith, Jr. And Nora Lee Hood Smith. He was a retired mechanic from K-Mart in Louisville and enjoyed woodworking and building things. He attended Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and Sulphur Wells "Snap" Missionary Baptist Church and was a board member of the Sons of the American Legion "SAL".

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Roy is survived by his wife, Carol Elliott Smith; two daughters, Tonya Cockerel (John) of Leitchfield and Tammy Oldham (Trenton) of Upton; four grandchildren, Lillian Cockerel, Schyler, Marie and Ruby Oldham; a brother, Paul Smith (Donna) of Georgia and two sisters, Mary Ann Broom (Kevin) of South Carolina and Evelyn Yeager of Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Broadford Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Broadford Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 PM, Saturday and from 9 to 11 AM, Sunday at the Rogers-Oller Funeral Home.
