Robert Velasco Jr.

Robert (Bob) Velasco Jr., 75, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his wife and children.  Bob was born in Detroit, MI on September 18, 1950, and was the son of Robert Sr & Rosalie (Wolfe) Velasco.

Bob was a member of the Cedar Springs A.M. Church in Clarkson, KY. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen E. (Ransom); three children Denise M. (Greg) Rich of Hawks, MI, Robert (Miriam) Velasco III of Clarkson, KY, Deanna L. (Rodney) Gullett of Oxford, MI; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and his sister, Carolann Wasilco of Capac, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Robert Velasco IV, and brother Greg Velasco.

Bob was the definition of a kind, caring, patient and humble man.  He was often a man of few words but when he did speak, he would usually say something wise or a wisecrack.  He absolutely adored his growing family and treasured his church community. He loved nature and gardening, raising his children with walks through the woods teaching them to be still, observe and appreciate all the incredible plant, insect and critter life that God had made.  He will be greatly missed by his family and community.

The viewing and funeral will both be held at Cedar Springs A.M. Church.  Viewing is Thursday, Oct 9, 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm. Funeral is Friday, Oct 10, at 10:30 am.
