Obituary

Pauline Mae Cary Hampton, aged 91, of Big Clifty, Kentucky, entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022.   She was born on September 17th 1930 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Until the most recent years, Pauline lived in Kentucky residing in Hopkinsville, Lexington, and Big Clifty.  The past eight years were spent in Conway, Arkansas.  She was a Baptist, and currently had a dual membership at Clarkson Baptist Church in Clarkson Kentucky, and at Salem United Methodist Church in Conway, Arkansas.  Pauline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whom everyone referred to simply as Ma.

She is preceded in death by her parents Orson and Hazel Reynolds Cary, her husband, William P. Hampton, sons, William "Pete" Jr. and Paul E. Hampton, two brothers, Edward "Bo" and Ross Cary, and a sister, Elizabeth "Bea" Cary Lockhart, and a newborn grandson, Roy Hampton.

She is survived by her children, Pete's wife, Kathy, Big Clifty, KY; Paul's wife, Phyllis, Big Clifty, KY, Charlotte Jones and her husband, Larry, Conway, AR, Phillip and his wife, Karen, of Lexington, KY, and her sister Zorayda Cary Alder of Hopkinsville, KY.   Pauline is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Gabby Young Burden and her wife, Brooke Hildebrandt, with whom she shared a special parent-like relationship.  She had eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Her favorite way to spend a day was surrounded by her family, music of all kinds and good southern food. She loved country music best of all and had hoped to make it to the 100th anniversary of the Grand Ole' Opry. She fed everyone that walked into her home, probably too much.  She spent her last years watching humming birds, smelling flowers, hugging children and with dog, JoJo Jones on her lap.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home with Bro. Art Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarkson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
