Obituary

Nancy Mae Newton Saltsman, age 81, of Leitchfield, passed away, Friday, October 17, 2025.

She was born on August 20, 1944, in Grayson County, to the late Bill and Ada Bell Mercer Newton. She was a homemaker, farmer and a member of the Long Branch Holiness Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, tending to her flowers and watching the birds. She loved her family and never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Saltsman and a sister, Kathy Scott.

Nancy is survived by two daughters, Rita King and Patricia Saltsman (Donald Johnson); a son Anthony Roscoe Saltsman; seven grandchildren, Joshua King (Emily), Rachelle Sweeris (Bradley), Brittany Saltsman, Deadra King, Cody Saltsman, Andrew Barnett and Nikki Golden; ten great-grandchildren, Levi, Silas, Hayden, Camden, Paisley, Raelynn, Raegan, Raeleigh, Zaeleigh and Taliyah; a brother, Wayne Newton (Judy); a special niece, Dossie "Sissy" Rankin; a brother-in-law, Robert Saltsman; a sister-in-law, Mollie Simpson and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM (CT), Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Watkins Funeral Home with Bro. Vester Decker officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Saltsman Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM, Wednesday and after 9 AM, Thursday at the funeral home.
