Michael Anthony Chambers, age 81, of Falls of Rough, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at his residence.

He was born February 3, 1944, in Maryland to the late George F. Chambers and Dorothy Gray Chambers. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed going to auctions. He was a simple man that loved his cows, cats and especially his dog, Daisy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Malone and two brothers, Peter Chambers and George Francis Chambers.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jean Bernadette "Bernie" Higdon Chambers; three stepdaughters, Melissa Branham, Valerie Mattingly and Kim Fulkerson; a brother, Richard Chambers; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM (CT), Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Axtel with Rev. Shaiju Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM (CT), Friday and from 9 to 10:15 AM, Saturday at Watkins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society in his memory.
