Mattie Geneva Miller Witten, age 98, of Leitchfield, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

She was born February 13, 1926, in Big Clifty, to the late Sterlie Miller and Lillie Mae Noe Miller Hodge.

Mattie was an entrepreneur, owning several different businesses; an avid bowler until she was 96, and was the first Kentucky Lottery winner in 1989. She raised her family mostly in Illinois and moved back to Kentucky in 1976. She was a member of Big Clifty Methodist Church and was kindhearted and generous.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Howard Witten; five brothers, Ernie, Sammy, Buddy, Paul, and James Miller and two sisters, Barbara "Sissy" Bishop and Clara Clifford.

She is survived by three daughters, Rosella Moraski (Jim), Doris Strickland, and Loretta Dixon (Lee Dalton); one brother, Taylor Miller; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM (CST), Monday, November 25, 2024, at Rogers Funeral Home in Clarkson with Bro. Doug King officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarkson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
