Mary Juanita "Nanny" Johnston Higdon, 87 of Big Clifty passed away at her home. She was born in Wax, KY to Ewell and Vera Bradley Johnston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewell and Vera Bradley Johnston; her husband, Hurley Higdon; one son, Darrel Higdon; 5 infant daughters; one granddaughter, Jenna Higdon; one grandson, Christian Higdon; one sister, Bernita Sims; and two brothers, Armond and Wilfred Johnston.

Survivors include eight sons, Barry (Bobby Jean) Higdon; Kerry (Patty) Higdon; Dale (Sue) Higdon; Neil Higdon; Timmy Higdon; Dennis (Cindy) Higdon; Keith (Connie) Higdon; Dr. Norris (Mona) Higdon; three daughters, Joan (Jimmy) Chaney, Jeannie Higdon and Sharolyn Kipper. Also surviving: 10 brothers and sisters; Odaline Clemons, Royce Johnston, Freeman Johnston, Lorena Shumar, Georgetta Smith, Denise Sims,Judy Clemons, Wayland Johnston, Dwight Johnston, and Maryla White.

Nanny has 23 Grandchildren and 23 Great-grandchildren.

Visitation : Friday September 9 2016 from 3-8 PM CDT; Saturday after 9:00 AM CDT at St.Elizabeth Catholic Church. Prayers at 6:00 PM CDT at the church..

Services : Saturday September 10 2016 at 11:00 AM CDT at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Hohman officiating.

Interment : St. Mary's Cemetry Big Clifty KY.
