IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcella (Milner)
Smith
January 5, 1934 – July 29, 2024
Marcella A. (Milner) Smith, 90, went into our Savior's embrace on July 29th, 2024, at Community South Hospital in Greenwood, Indiana.
Marcy, of Whiteland, was a long-time resident of Indiana. Originally a Grayson County, Kentucky native, she moved to the big city of Indianapolis to pursue a career in mortgage finance. She enjoyed the single life, ballroom dancing and competing in team bowling leagues with friends. Marcy was convinced to settle down by Theodore C. Smith and they married in 1972. Their family grew to include two children as well as a constant presence of furry and scaled friends. Dedicating her life to her kids, Marcy was a constant fixture at all manner of sports events, Boy Scout and Girl Scout meetings and trips, and classroom happenings. She did everything from volunteering in her kids' school cafeteria to learning how to officiate and run state-wide swimming meets. Marcy was also an active participant in her faith community as a nearly 50-year parishioner of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two children, Theodore O. Smith of Whiteland and Alexandria (Smith) Preston stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida with her spouse, Thomas Preston, and their children, Aurora and Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Theodore C. Smith of Los Angeles, California, her parents, Sylvester and Mary Edith Milner of Clarkson, Kentucky, and her four brothers and two sisters.
