Lois Marie Roof, age 77, of Clarkson, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Springview Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

She was born on July 23,1948 to the late Macy and Ora Strange Horton.

Lois was a person who loved to give to others and enjoyed things like going to yard sales, antiques, peddling junk, loved singing gospel music (Amazing Grace was her favorite song), and what she cherished the most was her children and spending time with her family.  She was a member of Mt. Gilead Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Neil Harrison (Debbie) and James Bradley (Lynn); two daughters, Rose Downs (Mike) and Tasha Woosley (Ethan); 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donnie Horton.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wayne Roof, two daughters, Angela Eden and Betty Jane; and seven sisters.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Family Burial Fund c/o Rogers Funeral Home.  

To further honor her memory the family has requested that people wear the color red for Lois's services as that was her favorite color.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM (CT) on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Ethan Woosley officiating.  Burial will follow at Eveleigh Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, and starting again at 9 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
