Joyce Elizabeth Coffman Whalin was born September 19, 1946, in Elizabethtown and passed away September 11, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family.

Joyce moved to Louisville, where she raised her family. Eventually, she retired to Edmonson County. She loved singing and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Carroll Whalin; a son, Curtis Leon Whalin; her parents, Thomas H. and Cecilia Elizabeth Winters Coffman and a brother, Walter Wisneski.

Joyce is survived by her children, Debra Kay Whalin, Denzil Thomas Whalin, Sr. (Sherry), Vickie Lynn Torres (Leesa) and Elizabeth Carol Whalin (Jim); a sister, Jeanette McDonald; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM (ET), Monday, September 15, 2025, at New Horizon Baptist Fellowship at Rhudes Creek with Bro. Glenn Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in the New Horizon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 PM (ET), Sunday and after 10 AM (ET), Monday at the church.
