James C. "Jake" Alvey was born in Grayson Co., KY. He was the son of Henry Lee and Teresa Mae (Higdon) Alvey and was married to Nell Alvey of Clarkson. Jake enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching his cattle grow and caring for his farm when able to do so.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Debra Stogner, Dan and Linda Stogner and Kevin and Dee Dee Alvey; two daughters and a son-in-law Rene and Larry Neiman and Sabetha Alvey and Don Roach; eight Grandchildren; three Great-grandchildren; and five sisters Carrie Alvey Thompson, Virgie Alvey, Nora Alvey Haycraft, Pearl Alvey Minton and Geneva Alvey Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Parents, four brothers Fred, Marshall, Paul and Albert Alvey and a sister Cora Dezarn.

Visitation : Sunday April 07 2013 from 4-8 PM; Monday after 9;00 AM at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home. Prayer service will be on Sunday at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Services : Monday April 08 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.

Interment : St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery.
