James Murl
Hill
August 1, 1922 – March 16, 2017
James Murl Hill passed away on 16 March 2017 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical center after a brief illness. He was born on 22 August 1922 in Clarkson, KY.
Murl was the son of Edward Hill and Anna Liza Clemons Hill, both preceding him in death. Murl is survived by two sons, Martin (Roz) and Jimmy (Sandra) Hill of Clarkson and one daughter Dolores Rose Hill McClurg of Leitchfield. One sister, Arcella Stevenson of Louisville also survives. He is blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Murl is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Thelma Harned Hill, two brothers, Garnal and Jewell Hill and one son Charles Clinton Hill.
Murl was a life-long farmer, growing up during times before farming became mechanized, less labor intensive, utilizing much more "horse-power." He loved the farm life, growing crops, raising cattle, hogs, horses and children. But most of all he loved his "bride" as her referred too her, of sixty eight years, Thelma. He also loved his Catholic faith community and his many other friends. He as a life long member of St Augustine's Parish in Grayson Springs (Clarkson) KY.
On March 29, 2017 after visitation and funeral mass; further socializing and a light meal will follow in the church basement after services are concluded.
Murl totally enjoyed his many years on this earth, all it's joys as well as coping with the difficult and sad times. He now rests at peace with his Lord.

Services : Wednesday March 29 2017 at 11:00 AM CDT at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Babu Kalathumkal and Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.
Interment : St. Anthony Cemetery
