James Gilbert Goodwin, Jr. age 77, of Clarkson, passed away, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He was born December 12, 1947, in Washington D.C. to the late James and Marlyn Goodwin. He enjoyed golfing, motorcycle riding, yardwork and caring for his family. He was a veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis, Larry and Billy Goodwin.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rita Faye Goodwin of Clarkson, four children, Tina Marie Carby (Dave) and James "Jimmy" Goodwin all of Clarkson, Ricky Goodwin of Leitchfield and Cindy Goodwin of Clarkson; five grandchildren, Kendra Saltsman (Ethan), Hanna Goodwin, Harley Goodwin, Brayden Doyle and Brooklyn Goodwin; a great-grandchild, Josephine Saltsman and four sisters, Linda Smart (Donald) of Tennessee; Sharon Lumsden of Virginia, Bonnie Goodwin and Diane Williams both of Tennessee.
