James Hilman Clemons age 98, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away December 14, 2023, at Nazareth Home- Highlands Campus in Louisville.

He was born March 16, 1925, in Grayson County, Kentucky, to the late Andy and Pernie Johnston Clemons. He was retired from International Harvester Company, and a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Navy. He enjoyed playing the guitar and performed with a bluegrass band up into his nineties. He was a member of the St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving and devoted Pa-Pa to Charlotte, Michael, Genevieve, Ava and Ben.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Alberta Staples Clemons; and nine brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two children; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon (CST) Tuesday, December 19, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 6874 Wax Rd, Clarkson, Kentucky, with Rev. Brandon Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Benedict Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 AM (CST) to 11:30 AM Tuesday at Rogers Funeral Home.
