Mr. Carnes was retired as a security guard with Carpenter Body Wks. formerly of Mitchell. IN. He was also a member of the Marion Township Fire Dept.

He is survived by one daughter, Rosemarie Hammons of Paoli, Indiana. a son, James F. Carnes of Louisville and a sister, Hettie Montgomery, also of Louisville. Other survivors include 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Preceeding him in death were his parents Joseph & Annie Huffman Carnes, his first wife, Sara Jane Shanks Carnes & his second wife, Eva Cox Carnes. Others include a grandson, James Carnes; two brothers, Travis & Jesse Carnes & four sisters: Mary, Rachel, Maglan & Marie.

Visitation : April 13 from 5-8 PM at McAdams Mortuary Paoli Indiana

Services : April 14 2012 @ 12:00noon there will be a graveside service conducted by Bro. Harvey McAdams at St. Anthony Cemetery Peonia

Interment : St. Anthony Cemetery Peonia
