James Martin Atherton was born in Owensboro, KY. He was the son of Walter Atherton and the late Joan Atherton. He was married to Nona Elayne Osborne Atherton of Leitchfield.

He was a Warehouse Manager and a Veteran of the US Navy.

He is survived by his Wife; three daughters Nona Sumner of Newburg,IN,Sandra Keller of Seattle, WA and April Keller of Chandler, IN; one son Dennis Keller of Chrisney, IN; fifteen Grandchildren; his father Walter Atherton of Owensboro, KY; two sisters Kasey Quiggins and Joni Spalding of Owensboro KY; and one brother Chris Atherton of Owensboro, KY; and two aunts Jeane Castile of California and Jane Herndon of Livermore, KY.

Visitation : Saturday Nov. 2 2013 from 9am to 2pm at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home.

Services : Funeral service is at 2pm Saturday Nov. 2 2013 at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home.

Interment : Burial is scheduled for Monday Nov. 4 2013 at Ky. Veteran Cemetery Central.
