Irene Whitworth Cundiff Parrish, age 95, of Hardin Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at her home in Cecilia.

Irene was born in Soloway, KY on July 23, 1929, to the late John Whitworth and Mattie Smallwood Whitworth Lyons. She was a member of the Hardin Springs Community Church

Our mom was a strong-willed woman, had a lot of faith and raised us six girls all by herself. She did farm work for a few of the farmers to make a living for us. Mom loved working in her flowers and yard; her yard was as clean as her house. Our mom is resting in peace now after her battle with dementia and bladder cancer. Mom is gone but always in our hearts, we love you mom.

Other than her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her first husband, Sidney Cundiff; her second husband, Marvin Parrish; one stepson, David Parrish; two grandsons, Richard Anthony Smoot and Rodney Dwayne Powell; two brothers, Coy and Strother Whitworth and four sisters, Lena Mae Sanders, Berley Smallwood, Rosie Carmen and Kathleen Whitworth.

Irene is survived by her six daughters, Norma (Harlin Junior) Dennis, Gladys (Floyd) Blan and Mary Lou Farrell all of Cecilia; Wanda Bunnell, Nina (John) Hamler and Martina Cundiff all of Elizabethtown; three stepsons, Ronnie Parrish of Florida, Charles A. Parrish and Vernon Parrish both of Bedford; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor McAtee of Elizabethtown and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, (CT), Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Hardin Spring Community Church with Bro. Randall Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hudson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 PM (CT), Monday and after 9 AM, Tuesday at the church.
