Herman P. Alvey, Sr. was born in Grayson Co., Ky., the son of George and Gertrude Bradley Alvey. He was married tothe late Imogene Tierney Alvey.

He was a Musician, an Instrument builder, an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by two sons Bill and Jr. Alvey; two step-sons Larry and Denny Tierney; four daughters Susie Mattingly, Janet Ramsey, Margaret Fey and Lisa Mae Pharis; 13 Grandchildren; 7 Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, a daughter Kathy Lynn Alvey, two grandsons Jarred Pharis and Bryan Stephen Ramsey and his Parents.

Visitation : Thursday August 19 2010 after 1:00 PM; (Prayer service at 6:00 PM) Friday August 20 2010 after 8:00 AM until time of service

Services : Friday August 20 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Randy Howard officiating

Interment : St. Joseph Cemetery Leitchfield KY
