Obituary

Helen Irene Humphrey Hawkins, age 80, of Clarkson, passed away, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Grayson Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

She was born April 25, 1943, in LaRue County, to the late, John W. and Helen Evans Humphrey. She was a former cook at Grayson Manor Nursing Home and a member of Little Flock Baptist Church. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved the Lord and prayed for her family continuously.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Hawkins; a grandson, Little Timmy Hawkins; four brothers, Emanuel, Donald, Paul and Dewey Humphrey and four sisters, Lully Humphrey, Thelma Thompson, Dorothy Gossett and Anna Bell Tingle.

Helen is survived by two sons, Arnold (Marcia) Hawkins, Timmy (Missy) Hawkins; three daughters, Wendy (Johnny) White, Roberta (Stevie) Gibson and Sharon (Larry) Clemons;  ten grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel), Keith (Diana), Johnathon (Beth), Amanda (Kevin), Andy (Kara), Lee (Emily), Tiffany (Devin), Zack (Lacey), Lucas (Maddie) and Jake; twenty-five great-grandchildren with one on the way and a special young man who has been calling her mamaw for over 44 years, Michael White.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM (CST), Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Milam officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Flock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM, Saturday and after 9 AM, Sunday at the funeral home.
