Harrel Edwin Allen, age 70, of Big Clifty, passed away, April 27, 2023, in Leitchfield.

He was born April 16, 1953, in Grayson County to the late, Wilford and Annie Line Spencer Allen.

Harrel was a humble person, who lived a content, simple and happy life. He took things as they were, and never questioned the reason why. He loved his home and the farm which he lived on all his life. This Bible verse describes how he lived, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time"- I Peter 5:16

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, L.J. Allen and Gathel Allen and four sisters, Janice Johnson, Frances Geary, Shirley Terry and Darlene Allen.

Harrel is survived by his brother-in-law, best friend and caregiver, Dale Terry; brother-in-law, R.C. Geary; several nieces and nephews; his buddy and helper, Aaron Tomes and his extended family, Donna Brasden and her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM (CDT), Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 12 PM Sunday until the time of the service.
