Dorothy E. Hayes, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY., went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 1, 2017, at her home, surrounded by family.

Dorothy was born on January 7, 1940 in Leitchfield, KY to the late Presley Whobrey and Cova Cook Whobrey. She married the love of her life, Herman Hayes, on February 3, 1956. They were blessed with three children.

Dorothy received salvation on October 28, 1961, was baptized on November 8, 1961 and was a member of New Hope (Sadler) Baptist Church.

Dorothy loved her family. She enjoyed working puzzles and watching U of K basketball games.

Dorothy is survived by two sons: Ray Hayes and Billy (Arlene) Hayes; one daughter, Nitta (Mike) Lindsey; six grandchildren: Chris (Brook) Hayes, Jordan Hayes, Jaimee Hayes, Tyler Hayes, Ashley Hayes and Mikey Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, Max Hayes and Abygail Burnett; five sisters, Juanita Hockenberry, Virginia (Kirby) Johnson, Martha Vincent, Mary (Jr) Willis and Vicky (Hubert) Warf; four brothers, Ernest (Doris) Whobrey, William Whobrey, Harold (Rosalie) Whobrey, Danny (Marsha) Whobrey and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hayes; her parents, Presley Whobrey and Cova Cook Whobrey; two brothers, Delmar Whobrey and Elmer Whobrey and one sistr Ruth Goins.

Visitation : Wednesday May 3 2017 from 4-8 PM CDT; Thursday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM ; Friday after 9:00 AM CDT at Watkins-Oller Funeral Home

Services : Friday May 5 2017 at 11:00 AM CDT at New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. Neil Carnes and Bro. Edward Cockriel officiating

Interment : New Harmony Cemetery
