Don Kirk, age 70, of Leitchfield, passed away, Monday, January 15, 2024, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green.

He was born November 15, 1953, in Urbana, Illinois to the late Bon and Harlene Griffith Kirk. He retired as a dispatcher from the Grayson County 911 service after 30 plus years of service and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. He graduated from Murray State University with a master's degree in Outdoor Recreation and enjoyed being outdoors and telling stories.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bon and Terry Kirk.

Don is survived by two daughters, Hannah (Dylan) Camacho of Bowling Green and Catherine (Nathan) Brummett of Lexington; a step-daughter, Robin (Steve) Atkins of Leitchfield; a brother, Lon Kirk (Sharon) of Champaign, Illinois; a sister, Kathy (Gary) Ward of Mahomet, Illinois; a granddaughter, Ava Grace Brummett; two step-grandchildren, Katie (Tony) Frye and Gary Atkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM (CST), Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Watkins Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Bro. Chessie Shartzer officiating.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 PM, Saturday and after 11 AM, Sunday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kentucky School for the Blind or the KY Organ Donor Association.
