Charles Sandlin age 89, of Leitchfield, passed away, Saturday, November 25, 2023, at his residence.

He was born, November 20, 1934, in Grayson County, to the late, Ples and Geneva Crain Sandlin. He was a heavy equipment operator for Ragland Construction, retired from Dan Cristiani Excavating and was a member of Broadway Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed mowing his yard, gardening and meeting his friends at Hardees for breakfast and at McDonalds for lunch. His three kids were his world.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Bernice Ausbon Sandlin and seven brothers and sisters, Herman, Ernest, J.B., Nelline Warren, James, Prentice and Eloise Jarboe.

Charles is survived by two sons, Charles Everett Sandlin (Lea Amburgey) of Georgetown and Larry Dewain Sandlin (Sharon) of Leitchfield; a daughter, Melinda Sue Clark of Caneyville; seven grandchildren, Michael, Kelly, Tiffany, Sydney, Sara, Jacob and T.J.; nine great-grandchildren, Chelivia, Jasaiah, McKenzie, Abbryana, Serenity, Kaia, Tobias, Knox and Isaiah; and seven brothers and sisters, Charleen Lasley, Wendell Sandlin, Cleddie Lindsey, Roger Sandlin, Ovie Sandlin, Lillie Ausbon and Kenneth Sandlin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM (CST), Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Hank Gibson officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Friday and after 9 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
