Carlie Powell, age 71, of Clarkson, KY departed this life on Wednesday afternoon surrounded by his family.

He was the son of the late Alfie and Della Alvey Powell and the father of two sons.

After graduation from Clarkson High School, Carlie served his country in the US Army. When he returned home to Grayson County he married his sweetheart, Linda Manion. They lived and raised their family in Grayson County. He was a member and deacon of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a US Army Veteran, retired Mail Carrier. His favorite hobby was fishing and he got great joy sharing his fishing trips with his family and friends.

Carlie is survived by his wife; Linda, two sons; Mickey (Rebecca) Powell and Jamie (Allison) Powell, four grandchildren; Abi, Caleb, Griffin and Maddox Powell.

Other survivors include four brothers; Edward, Kenneth, Anthony and Leroy Powell and four sisters; Rose Webb, Wanda Milliner, Darlene Franklin and Kathy Powell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Rita Powell and one brother; Norman Powell.

Visitation : Friends may call at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home on Sunday September 30 2012 from 10:00 am - 8:30 pm continuing at 11:00 am on Monday October 1 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church until time of service.

Services : Funeral service will be at 2:00pm Monday Oct. 1 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Bro. J.H. Manion and Bro. Thomas Meredith officiating.

Interment : Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
