Ed was born as Carl Edward Clark on October 27, 1930. Those who preceded him in death are his parents Charles and Cova Drane Clark, his brothers Floyd, Bill, Odell, Norman, James Arnold and Lester and sister Doris Clark Fraze. Also, Katherine Conder Clark, the mother of his children.

He is survived by his sons Charley and Richard Clark of Elizabethtown, grandchildren Shandy Clark, Charles Clark, Chasidy Wolford, Mikyla Clark and Josiah Clark and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Linda Cripps.

Ed is survived by his present wife of sixteen years, Dorris Drake McGrew and children Joy Lucas, Marc McGrew, Richard McGrew and Carla Waterman. Also surviving are grandchildren Mitchell Lucas, Terri Lucas, Larrya Winchell and Michael Waterman and two Great-grandchildren. A Grand-daughter, Angela Waterman preceded him in death.
