Betty Francis Franklin, age 79, departed this world Friday, January 16, 2026.

Blessing this world with her light and presence on June 22, 1946, having been born at home in Big Clifty, KY to the late Margie Tuncil and William Franklin. Nanny was a kind soul who treasured her family, loved bingo and finding a bargain. She was the keeper of many of our secrets. She was a mother and friend but her most treasured title was Nanny.

She leaves behind to honor her memory her girls, Tina and Jan; her grandchildren, Melissa, Amy (Bobby), Tiffany (Logan), Wesley, Morgan (Nick), Ashley and Kayla; her great-grandchildren, Jenna, Tristen, Tommy, Nevaeh, KyLeigh, Van, Skilyer, Blakelynn, IslaMae, Carolina, Elijah, Jay and Braxton; two great-great-grandchildren; many friends and her kitty, LillyBell.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents and her beloved son, Milton “Smurf.”

By respecting her wishes, cremation was chosen. Family and friends are welcome to join us for a celebration of life on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 2 to 4 PM (EST), at the Chapel in The Woods, 1407 Moser Road, Louisville, KY.

Let us find comfort that our Nanny is no longer in pain, and we rejoice for the day the day that we will see her again. Fly high Nanny.
