Austin Scott Martinez, age 29, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025, at U of L Hospital in Louisville.

He was born May 23, 1996, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a welder at HEC Manufacturing and a member of the American Legion Post 87 where he served as Vice Commander for the Sons of The American Legion. He was very passionate about playing music and loved fishing. He was a very helpful and caring person, who always tried to put his friends and family first.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Louis Grider, Sr. and Toby Martinez, Sr. and a great-grandfather, Walter Thompson.

Austin is survived by his wife, Brenna Jury; his parents, Toby Martinez, Jr, and Lisa Martinez; a sister, Brianna Martinez; his grandmothers, Sherrial Martinez and Rose Simpson; a great-grandmother, Anna Thompson; his mother and father in-law, Lorie Jury (Keith) and several aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM (CT), Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Logsdon Cemetery in Clarkson.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM (CT), Monday and from 9 AM to 2 PM (CT), Tuesday at Rogers Funeral Home in Clarkson.
