Anna Frances Skaggs, age 83, of Clarkson, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her residence.  

She was born on September 27, 1942, to the late Archie and Edna Mae Higdon.

She served as a cook for many years at K's Cafe and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary post #81 and the VFW post #12175.  She loved going to church and attended the Restoration Place in Leitchfield and enjoyed riding her motorcycle on benefit rides to help others.

Anna is survived by her five children, Glen Lashley (Elaine) of Clarkson, Herbie Mercer, Anna Mae Murray (Steven), Richard Mercer (Vickie) both of Leitchfield, and Michael Mercer of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Earl and Ronnie Higdon (Marsha) both of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, along with several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM (CT), Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home with Bro. Damon Lasley Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Clarkson Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday, and then starting at 9 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
